Alappuzha (Kerala): A 30-year-old native of Kerala gang raped and killed while returning home after the job. Smithaof Mavelikkara in Alappuzha district has been found in a paddy filed and later she succumbedto injuries in Alappuzha Medical College hospital around 9 pm yesterday. She was working as a sales girl in a fancy shop at Kayamkulam of Alappuzha district. It isbelieved that she was returning home after the job around 7 pm as usual some unidentified mentaken her from the road to nearby paddy filed and raped while she was walking. She survivedwith only daughter. Her husband was died ten years ago. A pedestrian lady found she was found naked and bleeding in the paddy field, She informedmember of panchayath and police. Police taken her to Kayamkulam taluk hospital, andafterward, she was referred to Alappuzha Medical College hospital. Even so, It couldn’t save herlife. A mobile phone, a pair of chapels and men wearing undergarments found in the paddy filed.It is believed to be of miscreants. Nearby people witnessed a red Maruthi car was parked whenthe incident happens. Her shoulder and cheeks were wounded by bite and tong was broken.Kayamkulam police registered a case, and investigation begins.
